The New England Patriots management has adopted a wait and watch policy with their offensive lineman Nick Kaczur following media reports of him arrested in April for illegal possession of painkillers. Kaczur was there with his teammates at the Gillette Stadium to take part in the offseason training routines and minicamps when these reports surfaced. The misuse of prescribed drugs is considered to be an offense as per the NFL drug abuse policy and if found guilty, Kaczur could face a rehabilitation program of three to six months or up to two seasons depending upon the degree of offense. It is not clear at present whether Kaczur’s fans who had bought tickets to watch him play in the new season will get a chance to see him in the opening game.

The New England Patriots are not rushing to re-sign their tried and tested 39 year old linebacker Junior Seau for another NFL season as the rookies in the team are in the eyes of Coach Bill Belichick. Most of the rookies are training in various new positions in the training camps and the coach needs some more time to find a person that will fit into the huge shoes of Seau.
