Veteran linebacker Slaughter to play for the Patriots

T.J Slaughter, a veteran who has played 78 games in seven NFL seasons, has signed a contract to play for the New England patriots. There is no much details let out on the terms of agreement and the Patriots are thrilled by the signing of the 32 game starter into their team. He started his career by playing for the Jaguars in the third round of NFL Draft in 2000 and was with the team till 20003. In 2003, he joined the Green Bay team and has played for Baltimore, New Orleans and San Francisco in 2004, 2005 and 2006 respectively. He took a year off from the season of 2007.

T.J. Slaughter has an impressive career record that includes 358 tackles of which 172 were solo tackles, eight passes defended, 47 special team tackles, one interception and four forced fumbles. The man from Southern Mississippi made a career high 108 tackles in his rookie year for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2000 and followed it up with 92 tackles in the 2001 season. T.J. Slaughter has been signed by the New England Patriots as a free agent on 12th February 2008. The Patriots are hoping that his inclusion will further strengthen the defense in the team.
