Patriots is Looking for Cornerback in the Draft
Patriots are heading to the draft season in April with an intention of filling the cornerback position in the team. Though, there is no clear-cut formula for selecting cornerbacks, Patriots were fortunate to draft two players successfully in the last decade. Ty Law was drafted in the year 1995 and Asante Samuel was taken, in 2003. Patriots were able to develop these players into really professional ones. In 2004 Ty Law left the Patriots team due to some problems in the contract and Samuel is planning to go into the free agent arena this season.
Samuel’s price in the free agent market will be greater as he played his last season with the New England team and got recognition as one of the best corners. Patriots are really in need for corners as Randall Gay is a free agent and may move to some other team and Ellis Hobbs was not able to show consistency in his play in the last season. They are looking for drafts to play for the top line as well as to add support to their second line up. It is expected that more than 30 players will be taken up by different teams within the draft weekend.
