New England Patriots signs free agent Ray Ventrone
The New England Patriots have re-signed Ray Ventrone, an exclusive rights free agent safety player, into their team on Tuesday and the terms of the contract has not yet been disclosed. He was first picked up by the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2005 on April 28. The 24 year old player has so far played in two playoff games and two regular season games for the Patriots. Ventrone is a defensive back and was the member of the New England Patriots in 2005 season and had to sit on the reserve bench due to injury in the 2006 season. He then signed with the New York Jets for the 2007 season on Feb 21 and was released during the final pre season roster cuts on September 2nd.
Ray Ventrone, a promising young defensive back, was signed to the Patriots practice squad in Sept 19, and finally got into the active Patriots roster on Nov 3. He made his NFL debut in the match that the Patriots played against Indianapolis and also played in their regular season final game against the Giants. He was given the chance to show his skills in the AFC Championship game as well as the Super Bowl XLII, where he made his career’s first special teams tackle.
