Wes Welker conducts third annual youth football camp

The New England Patriots receiver Wes Walker wants the legacy of the Patriots to continue and is doing all that he can by way of imparting football skills to the younger generation through his annual youth football camp. This is the third year in running that such a camp is organized by Walker at his high school and he said that it is his way of imparting all the experience and knowledge that he had gained in his NFL career to the young NFL aspirants. Wes Walker wants to play a bigger role in the ensuing season and the fans are also hoping for better results from their Patriots team. Tickets to the New England Patriots opening game of the 2008 season are currently on sale.

Hobson wants to make a mark in the Patriots team

The free agent signed by the New England Patriots, linebacker Victor Hobson, is all the more excited and enthusiastic about representing the Patriots in the forthcoming football season. He was earlier playing for the New York Jets, the arch rival team of the Patriots in the AFC East championships. He is very happy to be playing with the stalwarts of the Patriots team. Hobson has said that he would easily fit into the Patriots team and will be able to gel with experienced veteran linebackers to form a formidable team. Hobson’s fans, with tickets to the home games, will be able to see him perform live during the upcoming NFL season.

Ellis Hobbs recovering slowly from shoulder injury

The Patriots cornerback Ellis Hobbs said that he is slowly recuperating from the shoulder injury he sustained in the month of February and is hoping to field himself in the team’s practice and training camp by late July. The Patriots fans as well as the team management are also hoping that their famed cornerback recovers pretty soon. Ellis played for 16 games last season with pain in his shoulder and is expecting to make it big in his fourth season this year. Ellis said that he will not rush up with things and will access the situation on a daily basis. The Patriots fans are already rushing to the ticket counters to purchase tickets for the forthcoming NFL season.

Tom Brady raring to go

Tom Brady did not have a reasonably good end to his 2007 football season as he suffered an ankle injury in the AFC title clash against the San Diego Padres and that showed in his performance against the New York Giants in the Super Bowl loss. Brady is determined to set things right this season and his efforts at the Patriots minicamp is a positive signal of what is lying ahead for the Pats fans. So, it is high time for the Patriots fans to purchase their tickets to watch Brady in action. Tom Brady is totally focused on the task ahead and he expects him teammates to support him to the fullest in the 2008 season.  

Patriots adds Oliver Ross to their Offensive line list

The New England Patriots has added one more offensive lineman to their team by signing Oliver Ross on Monday. Oliver Ross, born in Culver City, California has played for teams like Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals. Till date, he has played 89 games and has had 53 career starts. He is an asset to any team in the right tackle position. Even though Patriots are having enough and more offensive line, it is expected that he will be given the right tackle position in Patriots. Oliver is playing his ninth season in NFL and his best season was with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Pats fans will surely purchase tickets to see his excellent performances that will help the team to scale greater heights.

Pats not hasty in re-signing Seau

The New England Patriots are not rushing to re-sign their tried and tested 39 year old linebacker Junior Seau for another NFL season as the rookies in the team are in the eyes of Coach Bill Belichick. He said that a decision on the same will be taken once the mini camp and the training camp gets underway. Most of the rookies are training in various new positions in the training camps and the coach needs some more time to find a person that will fit into the huge shoes of Seau. But news is that both the fans and the team want to see younger faces in the linebacker position this season. The Pats fans will be sure to queue the ticket counters once the ticket sales for the upcoming season starts. 

Jackson sets his eyes on regular season

The New England Patriots wide receiver Chad Jackson is hopeful of playing in the upcoming regular season along with the likes of Randy Moss and Gaffney. The last two seasons have been very disappointing for Jackson. He has had 13 touchdowns and has caught 13 balls for 152 yards in his two previous seasons for the New England Patriots. Jackson said that he was determined to show the coaches the stuff that he has and feels that this year is an important one for him. Jackson said that he is more mature now and will be able to satisfy the needs of his coaches and fans if he is given a chance to play this season.

No intention to hide anything, says Belichick

Bill Belichick, the New England Patriots coach, in a television interview said that he was wrong about the rules of NFL regarding prohibition of filming the opponent signals and added that there was no intention to hide what they were doing. But, this statement was not accepted by Roger Goodell, the NFL commissioner, and he fined the coach for $ 500,000 and $ 250,000 for Patriots and the draft picks of first- round. Belichick said that the former video assistant Matt Walsh was to blame for the activity. Walsh said that he was coached to avoid NFL rules and was instructed by team officials about the ways to avoid exposure.

O’Connell shows signs of fighting in the big league

 

The rookie quarterback Kevin O’Connell has got into the good books of New England Patriots quarterbacks coach Josh Mc Daniels who feels that he is a fast learner and has all that it takes to be a Patriots quarterback. Kevin said that he has not been so far exposed to this style of coaching before and his coach wants him to work on various aspects every day. Mc Daniels had a one to one coaching stint with O’Connell and was impressed with the raw talent he possessed.

 

O’Connell acknowledged that Mc Daniels was the best coach that he had ever worked out with and said that he had huge amount of respect towards his quarterback coach. The New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is also appreciative of the efforts put in so far by O’Connell at the mini rookie camp and feels that the Patriots fans will be able to see this rookie player in Patriots uniform pretty soon. 

Brady to marry Gisele?

It seems that someone has been bitten by the love bug! Tom Brady, talented quarterback for the New England Patriots, has dropped hints that he might be tying the knot with his sweetheart Gisele Bundchen. The 30 year old strapping young quarterback revealed to Bridget Moynahan, his ex-beau, that he will soon be going down on one knee and proposing to the Brazilian supermodel. Sources said that Moynahan has expressed her joy and wished Brady all the best. Brady also further said that he wants to introduce Bundchen to his eight month old toddler, and wishes for her to develop a close relationship with his only son.
